Auctioneer Colin Young celebrates 40 years in the profession
One of the Britain’s most recognised and respected auctioneers, former NAVA Propertymark President, Colin Young, is celebrating the milestone of 40 years working in the auctioneering profession at Golding Young & Mawer.
Having joined the previously named Lyall & Co as an assistant manager at the age of 18, Colin is now Managing Director at the Lincolnshire-based auction firm.
During his career, he was named ISVA Young Auctioneer of the Year, has served as a Past NAVA Propertymark President, and has appeared as an expert on the multi-award-winning antiques and auction TV show Bargain Hunt since 2002.
He is also in demand for charity auctions and television work as a private auctioneer, thanks to his fun and entertaining personality.
Four decades
Colin commented: “I am absolutely thrilled to be celebrating my 40th year in the auctioneering profession and to have seen so many changes.
“From my very first day, it has been a vocation that has captivated me. No two days have ever been the same, and I’m extremely proud to still be involved all these decades later.
“The pace, the people, the achievements and the challenges all fused together are still something I have a real passion for, and I look forward to continuing my involvement over the coming years too.”
